Contractions

Contractions ऐसा शब्द होता हैं जो दो शब्दों को जोड़कर एक शब्द बनाया जाता हैं

Examples of Contractions

1. Do + not = Don't (डोंट)

मैं तुमसे बात नहीं करना चाहता।

I do not want to talk to you.

I don't want to talk to you.

2. Does + not = Doesn't (डज़न्ट)

वह मुझे नहीं जानती हैं।

She does not know me.

She doesn't know me.

3. Is + not = Isn't (इज़न्ट)

यह कलम नहीं बल्कि पेंसिल हैं।

It is not pen but pencil.

It isn't pen but pencil.

4. Am + not = Ain't (एंट)

मैं कहीं नहीं जा रहा हूं।

I am not going anywhere.

I ain't going anywhere.

5. Are + not = Aren't (आन्टी)

वे लोग अभी घर पर नहीं हैं।

They are not at home right now.

They aren't at home right now.

6. Has + not = Hasn't (हैजन्ट)

उसके पास नया गाड़ी खरीदने के लिए पैसे नहीं हैं।

He has not money to buy a new Car.

He hasn't money to buy a new Car.

7. Have + not = Haven't (हैवन्ट)

हमने ऐसा घर पहले कभी नहीं देखा हैं।

We have not seen a house like this before.

We haven't seen a house like this before.

8. Did + not = Didn't (डिडन्ट)

तुमने आज कुछ नहीं किया।

You did not do anything today.

You didn't do anything today.

9. Was + not = Wasn't (वाजन्ट)

वह कल स्कूल में उपस्थित नहीं थे।

He was not present in school yesterday.

He wasn't present in school yesterday.

10. Were + not = Weren't (वन्ट)

क्या तुम वहां नहीं जा रहे थे।

Were you not going there.

Weren't you going there.

11. Had + not = Hadn't (हैडन्ट)

उसने मुझसे कुछ नहीं कहा था।

He had not say anything to me.

He hasn't say anything to me.

12. will + not = won't (वोन्ट)

मैं वहां किसी भी कीमत पर नहीं जाऊंगा।

I will not go there at any cost.

I won't go there at any cost.

13. shall + not = shan't (शाॅन्ट)

क्या मैं वहां खेलने नहीं जाऊ।

Shall I not go there to play.

shan't i go there to play.

14. would + not = wouldn't (वुडन्ट)

तुम इस वक्त नहीं पढ़ रहे होगे।

You would not be reading right now.

You wouldn't be reading right now.

15. can + not = can't (कान्ट)

तुम अभी कुछ नहीं कर सकते।

You can not do anything right now.

You can't do anything right now.

16. could + not = couldn't (कुडन्ट)

मैं आपसे बात नहीं मिल सका।

I could not talk to you.

I couldn't talk to you.

17. should + not = shouldn't (शुडन्ट)

आपको वहां नहीं जाना चाहिए।

You should not go there.

You shouldn't go there.

18. may + not = mayn't (मेयन्ट)

क्या मैं वहां नहीं जा सकता हूं।

May I not go there.

Mayn't I go there.

19. Might + not = mightn't (माइटन्ट)

शायद ट्रेन आज नहीं आ रही होगी।

Train might not be coming today.

Train mightn't be coming today.

20. Must + not = mustn't (मसन्ट)

लोगो को घमंड नहीं होना चाहिए।

People must not be arrogant.

People mustn't be arrogant.

21. Need + not = needn't (नीडन्ट)

तुम्हे कुछ करने की जरूरत नहीं हैं।

You need not go there.

You needn't go there.
